Crawford Was Not Surveyed

The Lone Star Survey has found that:
a slim majority of [Texans] support the use of embryonic stem cells in medical research. The poll of 500 voters found that 56 percent of them endorsed such research. However, the survey authors caution that the margin of error associated with a sample of this type is plus or minus 4.5 percent at the 95 percent confidence level. Therefore, in reality the state could be almost deadlocked. Nevertheless, even a slim voter majority may be considered important in a state long regarded as a bastion of Republican morality, and therefore traditionally opposed to such research.
