The Power of a Supreme Court Justice
From the AP:An attorney for a pregnant inmate who wants an abortion said time is running out for his client to have the procedure while the courts decide her case.
The U.S. Supreme Court late Friday temporarily blocked a federal judge's ruling that ordered Missouri prison officials to drive the woman to a clinic on Saturday for an abortion.
Justice Clarence Thomas, acting alone, granted the temporary stay pending a further decision by himself or the full court.

What part of temporary injunction don't you understand?
No Supreme Court Justice has the power to unilaterally decide cases but a judge does have power to put an injunction, whatever action needed to prevent the case from being moot or unnecessary (e.g., stop an execution of a convicted murderer, stop publication of book that's libelous or threat to national security)
It turned out to be unanimous that the state should supply transportation for elective medical procedures, not what you expected, huh?
