Genetic Engineering News carries a Stanford release about its benchside ethics consultation program - it is well written and at this very early stage in the awareness of this very interesting practice it might be worthwhile to read this to get a sense of what BEC can do. I understand the physicians point of view. If doctors don't participate in executions involving the electric chair, why should they participate in lethal injections. Wardens can be trained to administer the drugs for lethal injections. If they can turn on the electricity for the chair, why can't they administer the injection?
