Whole Lot of Sex Selection Going On
Could it be that IVF, faced with a drop in the number of adults who want children as the baby boomer generation ages, is about to try and transform itself into a treatment that makes parents 'happy' about the traits of their kids?[MSNBC coverage] - Art Caplan

Actually what is pushing this trend is the huge demand for sex selection from patients. I am a fertility doctor and the number of requests for this is going up weekly. A debate exists in our specialty if it is appropriate for elective purposes. Since you also get information on the genetic health of the embryo in addition to sex what I ask the patients is what do you want to do if the only normal healthy embryos you get are the sex you don't want? will you want to let those die?
